Quality Policy
It is the policy of AJ Hurst Ltd to provide products and services that fully meet the requirements and expectations of our customers.
Our overall quality objective is to continually improve customer satisfaction by operating efficient and effective quality systems while striving to exceed customers’ expectations at every opportunity.
We are committed to complying with the requirement of IS09000:2000 and will aim to continually improve our quality management system by revising and improving quality objectives. It is part of our training programme that this policy is understood, implemented and maintained.
Our Quality Manual defines the requirements and procedures to be followed by all AJ Hurst personnel to achieve the company’s quality policy and objectives and is issued with our authority and commitment.

ISO 14001
Environmental Policy
Alfred J Hurst Ltd, as electrical distributors recognises the importance of environmental matters and will ensure that environmental protection and the prevention of pollution are part of our business decisions. We will work towards the following objectives:
- Comply with relevant environmental legislation, regulation and other requirements which we are bound to.
- Provide for the publication of the environmental policy internally by posting the document on the company notice boards. The policy will be available externally to ALL interested parties, (on request), from the administration team.
- Provide for the setting and achievement of environmental objectives and targets for the company, and for the publication of these within the company.
- Maintain efforts to achieve continual improvement in environmental performance of our policies, programmes and operations taking into account technical developments, scientific understanding, client and community expectations. Our starting point is to comply fully with the requirements of ISO 14001:2004.
- Where possible and reasonably practicable, we will aim to reduce our energy use and minimise the waste created as part of our operations. We also aim to assist our customers with a choice of product which is energy efficient.
- Provide regular communications to employees and any others working for or on behalf of our company, to raise their awareness of the company’s environmental objectives;
- Measure environmental performance by conducting reviews and assessments of compliance with this Policy Statement, legal and company requirements.
