Variable Speed Drives
In a conventional pumping or ventilation installation, the electric motor is directly supplied by the line supply and runs at its rated speed.
With an Altivar variable speed drive installed in line with the motor, there is no need for a mechanical damper and flow variation is achieved directly with Altivar variable speed drives.
Testing has proved that where Altivar variable speed drives are applied to centrifugal pumps, fans or rotary compressors, energy savings of up to 50% are regularly achieved, for a speed reduction of 20%.
The Altivar 11, 21, 31, 61 and 71 variable speed drives appear on the Energy Technology List and are eligible for the Enhanced Capital Allowance scheme.
Altivar 312 – ‘For simple machines’ this variable speed drive is a frequency inverter for 200...600V three-phase asynchronous motors from 0.18 to 15kW. This drive is robust, compact, easy to install. Its integration functions are particularly suitable for the requirements of applications involving simple industrial machines.
Altivar 21 – ‘For pumps and fans’ Designed specifically for the HVAC market, Altivar 21 offers ratings from 0.75kW to 75kW and IP40 or IP54 versions to suit typical indoor and outdoor installations. Altivar 21 features communications interfaces with popular BMS communications protocols.
Altivar 31 – ‘For simple machines’ With its high performance and numerous functions, the Altivar 31 still remains simple...”Plug & Drive”, compact and open to automation systems with Modbus and CANopen integrated, it respects the local specifications (voltage range, positive & negative logic, etc...). Available 0.18 > 15kW
Altivar 61 – ‘For pumps and fans’ open to main building and industry communication networks, ingenious, the Altivar 61 is personnalisable according to your needs. This range is dedicated to pump and fan applications for the Industry market and building market. With exceptional performances and advanced functionalities this drive is available from 0.75 > 800kW
Altivar 71 – ‘For complex high power machines’ this unique range is available up to 630kW. Open to all communication networks, applications, users...Altivar 71 provides ingenious solutions for all your particular requirements. Used for high performance applications (constant torque) these drives are available from 0.37 > 630kW
